The Bean What?
If you know about L.L. Bean, you know about the Bean Boot. It is a distinct and rugged piece of footwear that is loved by many for both function and style. The Bean Boot is a popular product that has become a powerful representation of their brand.
How can the Bean Boot get more amazing you ask? Turn it into a giant boot shaped truck filled with tons of L.L. Bean apparel and place it in the center of UNH campus. Shirts, hats, jackets, pants, shoes and more, all at a discounted price during the two-day L.L. Bean Pop-Up Shop sale.
This campus event is one that many look forward to every year. College students have very busy schedules, and the pop-up shop is a brief relief from the everyday struggles of being a student. Sitting right in the heart of campus, the unusual looking boot truck draws lots of eyes and spikes the interest of people passing by.

The Brains Behind the Boot
Our role as the Marketing and Advertising Club is to promote this event on campus as much as we can leading up to the big weekend. Even with word of mouth being a powerful form of communication here at UNH, we try to advertise the event in as many other ways as possible.
For starters, our marketing team created flyers that were posted throughout campus, especially in high traffic areas. The goal with the flyers was to highlight the three selling points of this event: the brand, the boot, and the 10% off discount on all items there. The design for the flyer was also sent out through our mailing list and shared on our social media platforms multiple times leading up to the event.
One of our latest experiments on social media is posting TikToks to promote our events and the club itself. For the pop-up shop, we posted a video of a few of our members outfitting different items available for purchase at the boot. This helped show the large variety of products on display, as well as draw more attention to our TikTok account.
With a bit of luck from the gorgeous weather, we had a fantastic turnout at this year’s L.L. Bean Boot Pop-Up Shop! Both days had consistent crowds, and we documented as much as we could on Instagram throughout the entire weekend. It would not have been such a success without the immense amount of work put in by the entire MAC team. I cannot wait to see what creative ideas the team has in store for next year!
